There is strength in unity of purpose. Approaches, techniques, skills and even points of view may differ. Yet the commonality of purpose remains constant among the various Schools, Programs and Professionals who are dedicated to healing and strengthening families who are faced with the myriad of challenges presented by emotional, academic and/or behavioral problems of their children. It has been said many times “that it takes a village to raise a child.” Nowhere is that more evident then in the students you serve and care about. You are an essential component of the village.
The vision of Core Solutions is to offer a global-village of parent support services and thereby create a strengthened community for your students and their families. These support services will promote parental support and partnership with your School and the Professionals who assist them. Community is poised to raise awareness and dispel misconceptions. Community will offer a forum for the united voice of those who have taken charge of their lives and empowered their families. It will speak to the courage that personal ownership demands. Creating an ‘open-door’ of sharing will raise the level of credibility and acceptance for the participating Schools and Programs as welcomed alternative behavioral modification and alternative educational process in the eyes of the general populous . . . who are a vital part of the larger community. Looking to the future, the Community created by the Schools, students and parents are a necessary part of the greater community of mankind who will reap the benefits by having a healthier society. A healthy society supports and celebrates the courage of change.
Misconceptions and judgments surround intervention, the aid of professional transporters and alternative schooling options. These misconceptions and judgments feed the shame/blame cycle that in turn feed fears, denial and shutdown. Yet it’s clear that the problems these families face seem to grow worse with each passing year. Problems which have not responded to typical modes of correction or modification in the past. So the need to respond with alternatives and creative solutions for those families grows in proportion. For it is not acceptable to lose even one precious child. Misconceptions and judgments happen from lack of understanding and acceptance. Someone who has never dealt with an out-of-control child cannot begin to imagine the feelings of helplessness and immense worry a parent feels. However, just like a parent who watches their child’s life suffer from a physical illness that requires the aid of professionals, a parent who watches their child’s life suffer from destructive choices should be free from any guilt when seeking aid and assistance from professionals. Yet, the misconceptions and rush to judgments families are routinely confronted with often cause added crushing pressure to an already heavy load.
Community is dedicated to providing a forum where the village can lock arm-in-arm in unity and stand for the strength and healing of families. Having the courage to stand in the light and speak with pride about the courage of change, and the accountability of choice, will reinforce self-confidence and self-worth. Key factors for a healthy society.
